Microsoft Dynamics GP is good platform for Corporations, however if Company goes
internationally and established subsidiaries overseas and in Latin America, it
should know international ERP aspects, such as localization, multicurrency, regional
languages, etc.
In this small article we would like to highlight several examples of MS Great Plains
implementations for multinational corporations.
. Localization. This is first of all compliance to foreign country taxation and
fiscal reporting. GP is "localized" and will be supported in English Speaking
countries: US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, Middle East, Spanish
speaking Latin America: Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay,
Paraguay, Peru and the rest of Latam, plus in Quebec/Montreal. Continental Europe
will be oriented to Axapta and Navision
. Implementation of Non-localized GP. In some cases Multinational corporation might
decide to implement GP in the country, where GP is not localize, in Brazil, for
example. The decision might be supported by the following factors: company just
produce for export in this country - in this case tax compliance might be
implemented separately; the company uses local office to support offshore operations
- like servicing call center.
. Integrations. If you need to sell on the local market, and if in US you have
corporate ERP Great Plains - you should consider localized ERP
integration/consolidation with corporate ERP. In the case of Brazil - we
recommended and implemented SAP Business One, which has advanced data extraction and
integration with hub ERP modules and features. Great Plains does good integration
job through Integration Manager module.
